TEAM Board
TEAM is a private entrepreneurial university, the first such University to be established in Uzbekistan. TEAM is founded as a privately funded university with a strong vision of building a university on a set of values as well as being commercial efficient and successful.
The values are
INDEPENDENCE OF THE BOARD
To ensure that the university demonstrates promotes and demonstrates such values the founders created an independent Board to govern the university. The Board was set up from the inception of the university and is chaired by an independent member with extensive experience in the management of higher education institutions.
The board crafted a constitution that has a majority of independent[non-sharing] members. This ensures that the role and interests of the funding founders and shareholders is limited. The constitution enables the board to protect from financial self-interest as well as enabling the university to be governed on strong management and business principles.
ROLE OF THE BOARD
The board is responsible for the Vision, Mission, Values and Strategy of the university and to ensure that this is promulgated inside and outside the university. That the university follows the Vision, Mission and Values in all that it does and that this is demonstrated to all stakeholders.
The Board approves the major strategic decisions, appoints the senior executives including the Rector and the Deputies, approves the overall budget, the main HR polices and oversees the risk management process.
The Board ensures that the university academic policies, processes and procedures ensures the independence of the academic decisions as well as maintain academic standards. To enable these issues to be governed the Board established an independent Academic Council chaired by the Rector and composed of a range of academic colleagues.

Andrew
Wachtel
Andrew Wachtel received his BA from Harvard University and his MA and PhD from the University of California, Berkeley (Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures). After a three-year stint at the Harvard Society of Fellows, he taught for three years at Stanford University before moving to Northwestern University in 1991. There he served as Chair of the Slavic Department and Director of the Comparative Literature Program. He was Director of the Roberta Buffett Center for International and Comparative Studies between 2003 and 2008 and Dean of The Graduate School from 2004 until 2010. A fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, his scholarly interests range from Russian literature and culture to East European and Balkan culture, history and politics to contemporary Central Asia.
He has published 19 books (as author, editor or translator) and more than 100 articles, and his academic work has been translated into 10 languages. Among his books are The Balkans in World History (Oxford UP, 2008) Russian Literature (with Ilya Vinitsky, Polity Press, 2008), and Remaining Relevant After Communism: The Role of the Writer in Eastern Europe (U. of Chicago Press, 2006). He is also active as a translator from Russian, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and Slovene and his most recent book of translations of the Russian poet Anzhelina Polonskaya was short-listed for the 2014 PEN Poetry Translation Prize. In 2010 he became president of the American University of Central Asia (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan) and served in that role for 8 years. In 2018 he became rector of Narxoz University in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Currently he lives in Bishkek, where he is involved in a number of academic consulting projects in Kyrgyzstan, Russia, China, and Uzbekistan.

Director of the Institute for Public Strategies Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO. Deputy Chair of the Council for promotion of competitiveness of the leading universities of the Russian Federation among the world’s leading scientific and educational centers. One of the leading experts in the field of educational policy in Russia. In 2005 Volkov became Advisor to the Minister of Education and Science of Russia.
From 2006 to 2013 he held the post of Rector of the SKOLKOVO Business School. Led the group of experts from the G8 countries on Russian initiatives in the field of education and participated in development of programs for the modernization of higher education in the Russian Federation.
In 2013, he was appointed as a professor of the SKOLKOVO Business School, became Deputy Chair of the Council for promotion of competitiveness of leading universities of the Russian Federation among the world’s leading scientific and educational centers. To the present he runs the institute of public strategies SKOLKOVO, which includes the center for the transformation of education, a block of regional and city ​​programs for management teams, Master in Public Strategy program, School of Project Managers and others.

Eldor Mannopov is the Managing Partner of Dentons’ Tashkent office. He specializes in corporate, contract, commercial, construction and tax law. Eldor assists clients in the energy, chemical and petrochemical, oil and gas, infrastructure and transportation, corporate, and investment sectors. Eldor has experience advising Uzbek and foreign clients on the incorporation of limited liability companies, litigation and dispute resolution, due diligence, M&A transactions, purchase of immovable assets and privatization of state-owned property. Eldor also advises on taxation regulations affecting local and foreign corporations, permanent establishments, tax optimization structures, licensing of design, construction and operation activities in various fields (EPC, FIDIC contracts).
Recognized as a leading lawyer in projects and construction, Eldor assists clients in drafting commercial agreements including EPC, procurement, construction, services and/or works agreements (according to both Asian Development Bank or World Bank standards).

Beishenalieva
Nazira Beishenalieva, an alumna of the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) and Harvard Business School (HBS). She runs a family owned business and is a Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of CJSC “Bank of Asia”. At present she is a Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Nazira is a member of the Board of Trustees of the American University of Central Asia board member of HBS Club of the GCC (UAE, Dubai) and board member of Asia Pacific M&A Association, a platform which unites M&A professionals and number of M&A associations from Asia Pacific countries (regions).
Nazira is co-founder of Pro KG Club a platform that unites professionals living in the Kyrgyz Republic and abroad. The mission of the ProKG Professionals` Club is to create a platform that unites professionals who inspire and guide young leaders. Activity of the club is focused on the development of the educational and professional capacity, as well as the personal growth of young people.

Kamola Makhmudova
Kamola Mahmudova heads the EBRD representative office in Azerbaijan. She has been living abroad for more than 25 years, but actively helps Uzbekistan by participating in projects related to cancer-stricken children and landscaping. She began her career in banking with a job at ABN AMRO, then studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Kamola Mahmudova has experience working at the EBRD, where she has been involved in major energy and infrastructure projects in various countries.
